ROOT SPORTS continues their 2015 schedule of High School Football Games of the Week presented by Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute live this Thursday from Klein Memorial Stadium as the Klein Collins Tigers host the Bellaire Cardinals.
After making it to the regional semifinals last year, the Tigers are determined to carry that success even further this season by winning their first district championship in five years and, after just two weeks of play, they’ve shown that they are more than worthy competitors for a title ranking #4 in the Houston area. Fronting their offensive efforts is running back Justin Pratt, who led the Tigers to a 62-21 week one win over the Cy-Woods Wildcats, with 24 carries for 232 yards and five touchdowns. Just a week later, the McNeese State commit and fellow running back Nate Edmonds both put on 100+ yard performances leading the Tigers to another double-digit win over Kingwood. On the flip side, the Tigers’ defense has been equally impressive in large part due to linebacker Cameron Good, who is committed to Cal..
Similar to their opponents this week, the Bellaire Cardinals are also looking to build off of last season’s success in order to become championship contenders come this November. After losing their first two games, the Cardinals have some ground to make up and hope to get back on track with a defense backed by All-District lineman Alex Duke and Donovan Stiner, who has committed to Baylor, and on the opposite side, a pair of the best returning receivers in Southeast Texas in TCU commit Courtney Lark, one of ESPN’s top 300 recruits, and Terrence Franklin, who had 43 receptions for over 600 yards last season.
The action kicks-off live and in High-Definition this Thursday at 7:00PM on ROOT SPORTS. ROOT SPORTS is available on AT&T U-verse, DIRECTV, Comcast Xfinity, Coastal Link, Consolidated Communications, enTouch and Phonoscope.
