ROOT SPORTS kicks-off their 2015 schedule of High School Football Games of the Week presented by Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute live this Thursday from Ron Poe Stadium as the McKinney Boyd Broncos host the Mesquite Horn Jaguars.
“High school football in Texas is very special and we are especially excited for the line-up of games that we have scheduled this season,” said David Peart, General Manager of ROOT SPORTS. “The passion and enthusiasm that exudes from the athletes, students and community throughout a high school football season in Texas is unsurpassable and we look forward to being a part of that excitement this fall and sharing it with our viewers.”
After losing to the Jaguars in last year’s season opener, the Broncos look to even the score with the help of a strong passing game fueled by Senior quarterback Grant Restmeyer and Senior wide receiver Brandon Bowling, who racked up 49 catches for 520 yards last season. The Jaguars will also be backed by a solid offensive line headed by Junior Tyrese Robinson, who is already being sought after by some of the nation’s best college football programs.
The Jaguars are looking to reignite the magic of their 2014 season. Winning their first outright district championship in school history and advancing to the regional semifinals, the team set a school record of 11 wins. This was in large part due to Junior quarterback and Oklahoma commit Chris Robison who passed for a school record of 3,891 yards and 44 touchdowns.
